Directional traffic

Highway and drive-through advisory
ACE Brands evaluates highway opportunities through vehicle movement, stopping behaviour, entry and exit geometry, journey purpose, competing facilities, utilities and operator economics. A drive-through or food plaza succeeds when speed, safety and convenience are designed into the land.
Commercial context
A credible highway assessment separates total corridor traffic from the addressable stream. Vehicle direction, day-part, passenger profile, freight share, pilgrimage or tourism movement, toll-plaza influence and nearby town demand change the likely customer mix.
Site geometry matters as much as the corridor. The review should test advance visibility, legal access, deceleration, queue storage, turning radii, median and U-turn conditions, service-lane continuity, flood level, frontage depth and the ability to segregate cars, buses, trucks and service movement.
The format must follow the journey. A commuter corridor may support coffee and quick breakfast; an intercity family route needs clean washrooms, safe parking and credible dining; a freight-heavy stretch may require different operating hours, ticket size and parking depth. Copying an urban outlet onto highway land is not a strategy.
Decision framework
Count the vehicles that can realistically enter from the relevant carriageway, not the combined headline number.
Advance signage, deceleration, conflict-free entry and clear exit determine whether a driver can choose the site confidently.
Drive-through stacking, order points, bypass lanes, parking and delivery access are tested at peak load—not on an empty plan.
Nearby towns, industry, institutions, tourism, fuel, toll plazas and competing stops are mapped by distance and direction.
Power, water, sewage, drainage, fire access, highway permissions and land-use conditions can determine feasibility before rent is discussed.
Illustrative working example
Illustrative brief: two plots are available on the same intercity corridor for a drive-through restaurant.
Plot A sees more traffic but sits immediately after a fast curve, has a narrow shoulder and depends on a distant U-turn for the opposite carriageway.
Plot B has lower total traffic, yet provides a long visible approach, a service-lane entry, adequate queue depth and adjacency to a fuel stop.
The addressable family and car traffic is estimated directionally, and the layout is stress-tested for peak meal-period stacking.
Mandate outputs
Scope is confirmed against the asset, brand, geography and decision stage. The following represents the core workstream.
Useful answers
ACE can prepare a reasoned estimate using official toll information, road classification, observed samples and surrounding demand. Where an investment decision depends on accuracy, a formal classified traffic survey is recommended.
No, but a compatible fuel or wayside cluster can improve stopping confidence. The effect depends on entry design, shared circulation, signage and whether the facilities serve the same vehicle stream.
Yes. Highway QSR and food-retail opportunities often need brand-specific planning. The commercial structure should define capex, approvals, handover condition and operating responsibilities clearly.
